Does it cost anything?

No. Yes Tax is free: no subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases, no account to create. Nothing is locked and nothing is on a trial.

I got a new iPhone — where are my projects?

Projects sync through your own iCloud, so a new device picks them up once it is signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on and Yes Tax allowed in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps using iCloud.

If iCloud was off, the data lived only on the old phone: it is not on any server of mine, because there is no server. Copy it over with CSV export (Settings → Export to CSV) while the old phone is still at hand.

My projects are not syncing between devices

Check that both devices are on the same Apple Account, that iCloud is on for Yes Tax on both, and that the device has been online since the last change — syncing is Apple’s, it happens in the background and can take a few minutes.

If it still does not, write to me with both iOS versions and I will look into it.

Notifications don’t arrive

Two switches have to be on. In iOS Settings → Notifications → Yes Tax, allow notifications. Then in the app, Settings → Notifications, turn on the ones you want: the weekly summary, “when a project goes red”, and a week before the deadline.

All of them are scheduled by your iPhone itself — there is no push server — so they also depend on Focus modes and Low Power Mode being off.

How do I get my data out?

Settings → Export to CSV gives you every project and every logged request as a spreadsheet file, through the usual share sheet.

A change order can be shared as a PDF or copied as plain text from the project screen, and the summary of a finished project can be saved as an image.

The widget or the Dynamic Island is not showing up

Add the widget the usual way: long-press an empty spot on the home screen, tap +, find Yes Tax, and pick a size. It shows the project you are working on and what the extra requests have added up to.

The Dynamic Island appears while a project is running and can be switched off in Settings → Show in Dynamic Island.

Can I change the currency or the look?

Yes — Settings has Default currency out of 49, Default rate, and Appearance: system, light or dark.

Currencies are never converted into one another: amounts in different currencies are counted and shown separately, so nothing depends on an exchange rate I would have to fetch from somewhere.

Can I send a client’s message straight into a project?

Yes. Share the message from any app through the system share sheet and pick Yes Tax — it lands as a draft request that you can attach to a project and give an estimate.

How do I delete my data?

Delete a project inside the app, or delete the app — the data on the device goes with it. If syncing was on, remove the app’s data in the system iCloud settings as well.

There is nothing to delete on my side: the app never sends anything anywhere. The details are in the privacy policy.
